Who we are

Beaded By Aanya was created, owned, and operated all by me, Aanya!

I am currently 19 years old and am in college full-time, studying business (who's surprised?) at the University of Georgia! I run this company completely independently. That means I create the designs, fulfill orders, manage social media pages, create the websites, run the markets, and so much more, all on my own! 

 

What we stand for

While originally, this company started as a hobby, a passion project, and, I'll admit, an attempt at making a little extra money, it's grown to so much more than that today. Through my journey in developing and growing this company, I've noticed many gaps in the jewelry industry. Namely, I found that there don't tend to be many companies selling truly unique pieces at prices that are affordable for everyone. Additionally, I noticed that companies that sold rings, typically didn't have a very wide range of sizes. I wanted Beaded By Aanya to be different. I wanted to create a space where everyone would be able to find styles they loved, at prices they could afford, and in sizes they could actually wear! Thus our motto was born: 

"Accessible Expression for All"

Beyond that, I've been able to use this company as a way to help give back to my community through my "Collections for a Cause". These collections donate 100% of profits from all pieces to varying charity and non-profit organizations. These donations support those in need all over the world, such as in Ukraine, in Palestine, and even supporting immigrants here in America. 

At it's core, Beaded By Aanya exists to build a community of people who can express themselves freely, feel safe and supported, and have a sense of pride knowing that the jewelry that they wear not only looks good, but also does good. 

How we started

I started this brand during the seemingly endless boredom-filled days of the Covid-19 Lockdown. I found an old bead loom in my closet and, armed with the help of countless youtube videos and an entire week of effort, I created my first bracelet! 

It was rough around the edges (literally) and the simplest design I could have made, but that's all it took. One bracelet kicked off the spark that would launch this entire company! I began obsessively creating bracelets, and even employed my brother to take the product pictures to post on my social media pages to a huge fan base (15 likes per post--- all just from my friends). The first collection I posted was fully based off of the original 6 Avengers, inspired by my binging of the entire MCU during lockdown days. I followed this drop with more bracelets themed after Marvel characters, then I ventured into some holiday collections, pride themes collections, and even custom-made options. 

As I continued to create these bracelets, I got curious about other kinds of hand made jewelry. I came across a video of a wire wrapped rose ring, and thus, and entire new world of possibilities opened up to me. I expanded into making wire wrapped rings, beaded earrings, layered necklaces, and so much more! I've absolutely loved going through this journey over the past 4 years, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here! And none of this would be possible without YOU! So thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping bring the little crafts that 14-year-old Aanya was making for friends and family into the real world!
